30 Days of Writing - Question 1

30 Days of Writing
Question 1:
Tell us about your favorite writing project/universe that you’ve worked with and why.
My favorite Project in original fiction is "Talastan", a world I created in 1989 and wrote in and about it for about 20 years. German speaking readers could have a look here: www.legendensaenger.privat.t-online.de/Inhalt.htm
The world developed itself pretty well, because I shared it with others for a while. Talastan was a nice home, grounded on the kind of fantasy I liked most at that time. (Anne McCaffreys "Dragonriders", Mercedes Lackeys "Tarma and Kethry", some "Darkover" Books) It hat to be archaic, but not fill of clichés, interesting magic, and I was in no need for alien races. I liked to write about humans and looked inside of their characters. And my playground became a half continent, as big as continental Europe from Denmark down to the tip of Italy, following its history about 3000 years.
My favorite writing universes in fan-fiction were "Elfquest" (in the 80ties) and is "Stargate" (today) or "Avatar - the last Airbender" (today), depending on the inspiring fandom I discovered there.
