A look back in the Past...
Apr. 29th, 2009 09:09 amYesterday I found an old postcard (about 30-35 years old) from the part of the town, I grew up. I decided to share it with you, although most of you have never seen Solingen. To see more, please click at the image .
But I think, if you look into google earth you will see the changes.
There are much much more houses in here, the school has become much larger, because the "Hauptschule Wupperstrasse" was changed to the "Gesamtschule Wupperstrasse" and they build a caged soccer flat for the boys.
I still remember how green "Kannenhof" it was in my childhood years. I played there in the free places.
The picture shows "Kannenhof" in the foreground, the mentioned school is at the left side (middle and down) of the card and in the background you can see another part of Solingen, called "Hasseldelle", build two ore three years later than "Kannenhof", which was build in the late 60ties. The woods are still there (maybe a little bit smaller, also the schrebergardens in the right and the left. But the green flats are now full of houses.
